Another Month has Come and Gone Away...

Dan was gone a good part of the month, attending photo seminars in Arizona and Utah. As many of you already know, Dan has become quite an accomplished photographer and was selected, together with 19 other non-pro local photographers, to showcase one of his photos at a popular nightclub in downtown Albuquerque. Attached to the right is the photo he has selected to showcase and sell. Congratulations, Boyfriend! This is a highly significant milestone for you!

Spring has definitely arrived here in New Mexico. The temperature has been in the mid to high 70's for several weeks in a row now and my lilacs, daffodils, and irises have all begun to bloom (and Dan has already cut the grass twice)!

Last night, Dan and I went to see Canadian crooner Michael Buble in concert with our friends Karen, Kyle, and Kathy (and Kathy's daughter, Erica). This morning, while listening to the radio in my car on my way in to work, I heard the song "Home" (one of Buble's first hits) and decided to switch up one of the lyrics in the song and use it as the title for this month's blog post. The concert was amazing and Buble, who is known to be somewhat impertinent, tossing out the occasional curse word here and there, is, never-the-less, an absolutely fantastic performer! Early in the night, he introduced his band (which included two musicians from Albuquerque!) and, as he introduced each member, he seemed to me to be very humble and mindful of his roots, giving credit where credit was due. He was also extremely appreciative of his fans and was very playful throughout his entire performance. He and his crew even put together a slide show of video and photos taken in and around Albuquerque and used the footage as a backdrop during the song "Home." Buble's opening act, Naturally 7, was also fabulous and Dan and I enjoyed the entire night from start to finish! Thank you, Boyfriend, for going with me to the concert and Karen, thank you for your good friendship and pre-concert drinks and appetizers! Two other Buble hits include, “Everything” and "Lost."

On the spotted hound forefront, Scout and Bandit completed their first set of agility classes this month. They both seemed to really enjoy the challenges of the course and their confidence levels have greatly improved. Bandit was quick and nimble on both the A-frame and dog walk/balance beam and Scout mastered the teeter totter and jumps in a flash (although he did have a bit of an off night that last class). Their next agility class begins in July. Daisy continues to go to dog camp twice a week and is very popular with both the staff and her fellow campers. She likes to wrestle, play chase with other campers, and flirt with the boys!

News Flash! I became and aunt on Friday, April 25th at 11:14 p.m. when Myah Grace made her debut appearance. Due April 19th, Myah took her time preparing for her arrival. She was nearly 1 week late and took just over 16 hours to deliver. My Mom, who was there for her birth, reports that Myah is a big baby, weighing in at 8 lbs 9 oz and measuring 20” in length. From the look of the few photos that I've seen so far, I think Myah very much looks like my sister's husband, Darin. My Dad left yesterday for North Dakota and is very much looking forward to spending time with his granddaughter. I do not yet know when Dan and I will visit. Welcome baby Myah and congratulations Kerry and Darin!
