Howling for Halloween!

This year, Dan and I decided to show off our sinister sides and dressed as Cruella De Vil and Horace the henchman from 101 Dalmatians. This is a photo of me (together with the hounds) donning the signature black and white wig and spotted fur stole of the devilish Disney character. Dan dressed as Horace with a driving cap and black mask, and the kids dressed as Patch, Rolly, Penny, and Lucky. A photo with all six of us is attached below and details about our big outing follow the photo.

As a pre-party for the 26th annual Doggie Dash and Dawdle, the Animal Humane Society of New Mexico and the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort and Spa hosted a Howl-o-Ween adoption fair with a pet parade and costume party. The event took place this past weekend at the resort’s Sunrise Amphitheater and Rio Grande Lounge Patio and included dogs of all breeds and sizes dressed as witches, pumpkins, and characters from the big screen. Attached below are a few photos of us participating in the parade, waiting in the chairs for the announcement of winners, and posing for the camera at the end of the event. As you can see, a spotted puppy or two (or four) always makes for some fur-tastic fun! Hee! Hee! Our spotted crew even won grand prize in the costume-judging contest and walked away with an overnight stay and breakfast for two at the resort! Whoo-hoo!

Also, just in case you were wondering, the Tamaya Resort and Spa is on the pueblo of Santa Ana near Bernalillo, NM , adjacent to the Sandia Mountains along the Rio Grande River. As you can see, it's an absolutely gorgeous place. We posed for the fancy family photos at the first turn off leading to the resort.

Okay, crew! Let's start this parade!

Off we go!

And the winners are ...

Cruella, Horace, and the spotted hounds!
